This is almost never the real problem. But…if your ads aren’t delivering for some reason or nobody is clicking on them, fix that first.
To optimize everything else, you need some traffic flowing somewhere in your business.
If necessary, start at something small like $100/day in Meta ad spend. (1 campaign, 1 ad set, 6-10 ads.)
Traffic, little to no sales
You have a Conversion Leak.
Improve your headline. Add more social proof. Make a better offer.

Sales, but no profit (most likely losing money)
You have a Revenue Leak.
You need to get your average order value (AOV) up.
Apply the “never let a customer buy just one” rule. Sell multi-packs. Bundle multiple products. Increase prices. Add pre- and post-purchase upsells.
Customers don’t come back
You have Retention Leak.
Most businesses can’t break even upfront on paid ads. That’s OK. They still scale to millions, tens of millions, even hundreds of millions of dollars in annual sales…LOSING MONEY upfront.
But you must get customers to come back and buy more to win long-term.
Offer a subscription (if applicable). Use automated email flows. Retarget with ads. Follow up with postcards. Use package inserts. Create a marketing calendar with regular promotions. Create and offer highly complementary products (only need a few).
