There are three reasons Amazon sellers fail at growing sales on Shopify.
After working with 7- and 8-figure sellers over the last 6 months in my private high-end training program, I’ve learned A LOT about helping sellers work through the specific issues that hold them back.
#1 – Low Lifetime Customer Profit
On Amazon, you can get away with selling a boatload of single $25 products each month.
That approach will KILL you on Shopify.
To compete for attention on the biggest traffic platforms for Shopify sellers (such as Meta ads), you must make more money per customer than all your competitors. Selling single low-priced units doesn’t work.
#2 – Low Conversion Rate
The best part about selling on Amazon is its built-in trust and convenience. Those factors give Amazon sellers conversion rates as high as 20%+ (INSANE anywhere else).
When selling on your own Shopify store, you must make up for the lack of built-in trust by engineering it.
You need proof, LOTS of proof. You need to use all the major copywriting elements (facts, features, benefits, credibility, guarantee).
You must tick every possible box to convince visitors to pull out their credit cards and buy.
#3 – Trying to outsource everything
Imagine an ambitious, eager entrepreneur came to you and asked how to succeed on Amazon. What would you tell her?
Would you say, “Go hire this agency, that agency, and another agency to find products, create listings, do launches, and run ads”?
NO.
You’d tell her, “Learn the game.”
Learn to find products, create good listings, launch products, and run Amazon ads.
Most Amazon sellers want to skip every ounce of work required to learn the Shopify game.
That’s a mistake.
The traffic and sales potential—and the ability to generate demand—is so much bigger outside of Amazon.
Your investment in learning the fundamentals—ads and funnels—is well worth it.
